Does hard candy expire? (ie Lollipops or jolly ranchers)?

I believe manufacturers suggest they be used within a year - any older and they become kind of chewy/tacky. However, if kept in the freezer, they WILL last longer.

Yes...eventually you would think...mite take ages tho...
If its still wrapped up i would say its safe to eat

I am sure the manufacturer has a sell by or expiration date, but if its sealed up I would day go for it!
i'm sure it does at some point, if not they're at least gonna taste kinda stale
I don't know if it expires exactly but it does get soft and stale after so much time. The wrappings aren't airtight or vacuum sealed.
I think it would have to be pretty old to not be any good. If it looks yucky, don't eat it. That kind of candy is almost all sugar. Sugar is a preservative.
If hard candy is stored in a cool dry place it will not expire. However, the quality of the candy diminishes with age.
I'm pretty sure that it would eventually expire but it should take a long time. Things with that much sugar takes a long time to go bad. I would say that if it is still wrapped up it should be OK.
yes
