Can I update latest IE 7.0 beta version on XP o/s, Without validation ?

I'm unsure if my XP is genuine or not, can I go ahead with updating internet explorer 7.0 from microsoft %26amp; continue with the validation process ? What happens if in validation process the software is found not genuine ?

Okay in order to check for genuine software Open up My Computer. Click on the help icon and select the option "Is this Version of Windows Legal?" Once you click that it will take you to a survey type screen where you answer questions. Once you reach the end of that process it will let you know if your copy of Windows is genuine. If you are wanting IE7 my suggestion is to go ahead and download it and try it. Click on their little validate tab on the screen and go for it. The most that could happen is it says that your Windows copy is not genuine. However it IS illegal to have pirated software. Chances are if you are running XP that it is genuine. Good Luck to ya!

Don't use IE7 Beta 2 because it is still under test version unless you wanted to evaluate and participate in debugging the software. Why not validating your OS, Microsoft is just making sure that using their software must use a genuine OS to ensure its correctness or if you can download a pirated version of IE7 but its illegal.
You're not sure if your OS legal? My computer came with a sticker saying that it's genuine. OR go to http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdat... they should have a program to check see if you have a genuine copy, but if you do it'll probably lock up your computer.
