This happens whether I go to Netflix from a favorite in Yahoo, or I type the web address and hit 'Go', or I try to Google the site. The PC shuts down my browser (Internet Explorer7) and returns the PC to desktop.

you might have a trojan on your computer make sure you update your antie viruses/spyware to remove those problems.
