Are packet miso soup (ie from the supermarket) generally all vegan?

i would definitely check the label. in my experience, miso paste available here has been vegan, but the little packet ones have contained fish stock.

Often they are not, as miso soup traditionally contains dashi, which is a stock or sometimes a spice made from fish. Check the ingredients!

You can get a bare bone miso paste which should just be a salty bean mass.

though i would check the ingredients anyway.

id rather make it myself, as packet stuff often has bad stuff in it like msg or other free glutamates.
nope... processed products usually have animal product in them.. most likely pork. (gelatins, additives.. adjuncts, binders, smoothing agents..)
happen to keep this on hand in a just in case I want a soup and don't have any made westbrae natural meets the criteria for vegan eating its rice soybeans sea salt wheat gluten dried green onions wakame seaweed so its beans grains veggies and seaweed and its good
