There must be a dozen ways to stay active in the arts while in a "time-sensitive" career.

The younger you are the more diverse I think you should be. But as you get older you have to focus your energies and not be involved in so much. When time spent in one possible career choice starts to interfere with your ability to succeed in another, then you have a choice to make. The other thing you can do if IE was broken but worked recently and you have automatic restores turned on. go to:

c:\windows\system32\restore\ and run program rstrui.exe

choose restore from earlier time and you will be able to roll back software settings that might have messed up your browser. This restore feature will not mess up personal data like pictures, files etc. It only rolls back device settings and programs that might have been installed.

I have seen a large number of questions in here from people having trouble with it. I would stay away from it if I were you. It's still too new and appears to have a lot of bugs.
I would recommend downloading IE7. It has some really handy features like tabbed browsing, meaning you won't have loads of different windows open just for a few pages. The phishing filter has also improved and of course, it has more robust security. Much of the underlying code has been updated to allow for some of the cooler features websites can offer.

The only downside I would say about IE7 is that it is a bit ugly!
while ie7 has new features and improvements, it still has some flaws with it yet to be worked out.

I downloaded it 5 days ago. Then all my HP printers and palm pilot stopped working. I contacted HP support and they told me that most HP products will not function properly with the IE7. They are working on a fix.

The reason areas around the north pole on a map appear distorted and much bigger in size relative to areas closer to the equator is because, when transferring a map from a 3D object like the earth, they needed to be stretched in order to show them on a flat surface. No sphere can can be shown on a flat map without some kind of distortion. Greenland looks bigger because it is close to the north pole. The closer you get to the poles the more distortion occurs.

Because the earth is a sphere and not flat. To portray it in 2 dimensions liberties are taken particularly at the poles.
It depends on map projection, i.e the way the globe is projected onto a 2D paper map.

You are probably thinking of the well known Mercator projection. In this projection the map scale expands in proportion to the secant of the latitude, so that Greenland is on a much larger scale than South Africa.

Often, I bring work home, so I do take the required supplies necessary for that part of my job. However, I also bring in many of my own supplies from home, because of my personal preferences (quality pens, etc.).

The only other things I take are the empty boxes %26amp; scrap paper (used/mistakenly printed). Occasionally my boss is known to give out old or obsolete things to anyone who wants to take them.

Stealing is wrong, but if I end my day with those mini-post its in my pocket, accidently, sometimes I forget to bring them back to work, unless it's like a brand new pack or something.

I try not too. If I ever find that I have erroneously taken a pencil or pen home, I try to bring it back as soon as I discover my mistake. However, this does happen, that I have something at work in my possession as I travel home....
It's interesting to think that you would approve of this. I know, it's only pens, or post it notes, or whatever. But this adds up. Every time you go to a store, and pay inflated prices, or an employee is unable to get a pay raise, because an employer is covering the cost of shrink, there are employees like you who think that it is ok.

I know a lot of people who do use company supplies for their personal use and have always felt that it was wrong. My employer extended great benefits to me, e.g., insurance, vacation pay, personal and sick days, etc. and allowed me flex time when my children were ill. If you find that you are in possession of something that you have absent mindedly taken, it should be returned asap.

It depends a little bit on your computer, OS and which version of IE you are comparing to. But generally, since Firefox has less stuff, it is faster than the comparable IE.

It's a personal opinion. Everyone will tell you Firefox is faster, but it's just browser elitism on their part.

Opera IS the faster browser available, then Firefox beats out I.E. by a tiny bit. Either way, with tweaks on Firefox, the speed can be improved. Don't worry about speed. The difference in browser speeds is barely noticable - just pick the browser *you* are most comfortable with.

Mozilla is much better than IE in a 6 x 6 perspective because:

1) It is open source therefore totally free.

2) It is extremely easy to customize, you can make it look the way you like. There are hundreds of free skins that you can download and apply.

3) There are many plug-ins and extensions that you can add without paying and best part is that such plug-ins are very useful and make most of your taks easy.

4) Since it is not widely used as IE, therefore, it is lesser prone to attacks.

5) Microsoft says that it has increased the security in IE, but in fact if you take a look at what they have done is simple... they have only disabled the options. Disabling an option is not an alternate to security.

6) Mozilla introduced tabbed browsing which Microsoft adapted in their buggy IE 7.

I have been using IE for almost more than 8 years, but now I have Firefox (Mozilla lineup). In the begining, I felt a little fever only because of the changed interface.

Well, more hackers target IE over Mozilla because most of the population still uses IE. Mozilla blocks popups, is easier to use, and much more secure. I would definitely suggest Mozilla, I dont even use IE anymore.

I would say this a matter of preference. I have used I.E., Firefox, Opera and a few others I not even remember. To me, they like a car, get me from one place to another.

What I would suggest is try them and see which work best for what you want to do. As mentioned Firefox may have a few extras, but, I really not use much of those. You probably do want to narrow down to using only one if you add to your favorites often. Once you have the one you like, delete the others, or, just keep to play around with.

A quick check on the microsoft site shows only version ie7. if you click into version 6 you just get a link to version to download it. Looks like if you have updated you are stuck with it.
First off, using IE6 is probably the WORST thing you can do on a PC. It is so unsecure, it has probably been downloading viruses and spyware without you knowing it one bit. IE7 is a little bit securer on the other hand. I admit, IE7 is hard to use, but if you look around, you will find everything.

What I deeply recomend, is to download Mozilla Firefox and begin using that as your primary browser. It is much more secure than IE.
I had a similar problem and got several good answers. Search for my question and check out the answers. I used System Restore and got rid of IE 7.0 and things seem to be working fine now.
Since you've installed the finished version the only way to get rid of it is to boot to your Windows CD and run a "repair installation". Despite what you're going to hear from 12 year olds in this thread, the finished version CANNOT be uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs or by doing a "system restore", only the "beta" versions can be uninstalled that way. You cannot simply attempt to install IE 6 either because it will refuse, saying "there is already a newer version on this machine".

Run a "System Restore" and your computer will go back to IE6.
You should just download IE6 and do not install it just save it in PROGRAM FILES. Then you go START MENU and then to CONTROL PANEL: ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Look for IE7 and REMOIVE IT. ONCE DONE go to program files and reinstall IE6 this should work for to fix the problem for you.

Check out MS's website. I somehow went back to IE6 (and didn't WANT to!) when I was downloading updates! So I had to re-download IE7. I have NO idea why in the world it did it, especially since there were IE7 updates IN THE DOWNLOAD!!

Go figure! You also might try to download IE6 and see if it will let you put it in a certain folder, put it on a disk, then remove IE7 with the Add and Remove Programs, then load IE6 back on.

I'd try seeing what the MS site says first. I'm sure there's and easy way to do it!

I would go with Safari 3.0! Since your running Windows, Apple just came out with a good internet browser. It is over twice as fast as Internet Explorer. And it is for Windows Xp and Vista.

no way to get around it if it fails because your copy of windows is illegal. the only way would be to get a legal copy of windows, format your hard drive and install the legal copy.

The yellow question mark means that the device was not installed properly. All you have to do is click on the icon for devices the computer, in device manager, and as long as you have installed the drives etc from the supplied CD, Windows will then correctly install and set up your new hardware. Then re-boot, just to make sure everything was done. you will have to physically install the software on the actual machine that will use it as well.

Best attempt usually goes as follows:

Close ALL programs running in the background (quicktime, antivirus (temporarily), other task tray items). That's so they don't mess with the install or lock files that the installer might need to use. Some software just doesn't play fair together, even under XP.

Make sure that if you're installing drivers, you disconnect the hardware (or don't plug it in until AFTER you install drivers). If you've already plugged in the device and it recognized it but didn't have drivers it understood, that can bugger things up. Go into the device manager Start Menu -%26gt; settings -%26gt; control panels -%26gt; system -%26gt; Device manager. unplug your usb device from the USB port. Click the device with a yellow ? mark. right click it and click uninstall. It will go away.

NOW install the drivers. Once installed. Reboot. Once rebooted, connect the USB device. The system will now recognize the device, have CORRECT drivers to install, run through the process, and you SHOULD be up and running.

Generally USB thumb drives should be recognized automatically, as should many (not all) MP3 player card slots, which windows will configure and use automatically assuming they conform to the generic specifications (most do, some don't; the ones that don't you may need specific drivers for the device to be properly used/recognized).

Hope that helps! Also, for Canon printers, and possibly cameras, it will prompt you during the install software process when to connect the USB device and turn it on. Don't do it befoer that or you'll have to uninstall the driver and let it redetect it later like I said above.

Check the Save User Name/Password box on the web sites. Also, check the box on the Windows Password 'pop-up' box that you see after signing in for the first time. This morning I thought I would try to reload Office and it worked!! My address bar accepts me just typing the www.domain.com. When I reloaded Office I did a fix errors on my installation.

The technical answer, there is no security in email. It's like sending a postcard through the U.S. Mail, anyone in the post office along the way *could* read it.

Now, why would they read it is the question. It's unlikely, but not enough to bank on (maybe they are reviewing sample mail for spam filters for example).

I find the internet to be an ever increasing mass of confusion. More and more sites everyday, and nobody can index them all. Search engines promise to keep improving, learning peoples individual tastes, but it seems that a major revamping is in order... shouldn't there be some way to put sites into detailed catagories, like neighborhoods, or shopping malls, possibly regional indexes. Wouldn't it make sense? What good is all the information, commerce, news, media, etc, etc, if it's not organized, factual or relevant? I don't care about car dealerships in other states. We need a way to allow educational sites to be submitted for factual accuracy. There could even be a red light district. What do you think?

As far as I know this is not possible.

You might want to look at u3 technology, which are thumbdrives that are able to run certain applications. There are several applications available, including a light version of Office. Some applications are free, some are chargeable.

This can be very useful if you are working in the IT line and while you are working on a server that doesn't have Office installed, but you want to look at the Word document or Excel spreadsheet that you have on your thumbdrive. The application runs on the thumbdrive.

I don't know if the u3 can be installed on an external harddisk as well, but definitely for MS Office full version, your license also won't allow you to run it on multiple computers like that, so I'm sure they will have blocked that option.

There are thousands of suspects among common people, who continue to remain behind the bars for decades, without trials and everybody including us, just do not care for them. They are left unattended, awaiting justice or wishing to die prematurely, rather than living life of dead bodies.

Hence, we would like to know whether the noble profession of a council that is supposed to provide legal assistance to innocent suspects and uphold the prestige of justice is really giving positive results.

Additionally, I wouldn't screw around with anything in your system32 folder unless you knew for sure what you're doing. Your adware program is showing you all changes not just changes that could be made by a virus or trojan horse.
