Is is better to specialise in 1 career (ie music) or aim to succeed in a few things you love (ie foo

Here is the clash of 2 success principles: "concentration of focus" on one goal, versus "not having limiting beliefs" only being able to be a master of one trade.

You have to decide:

1) Do I want to make money to live?

2) Do I want to live to make money?

Both industries you have chosen are highly competitive- For best results pick one to concentrate on as a career and one as a fun passtime-

Although there is nothing stopping you from having an income from music as a passtime- good luck!

i really have a feeling that neither career would pan out
well the more you can do the more you have to choose from, say you get hurt and can no-longer play football, since you know music , instant new career, see what I'm saying .Learn all you can .
watch tv
You can do both, but if you were seriously injured in football, it could affect a music career, depending on the instrument played and the kind of injury.
Ahhh...a decision on "two loves" and the short run versus the long run.

I assume you are on the young side because you may be considering a career in football (can also include careers in "modeling", etc.). Careers such as sports and modeling are "time-sensitive", that is, we "retire early" from them.

Because of this, it's very important to study, practice, and keep up with other abilities, skills, and talents so that when we "retire early" we have our "other love" to "keep us going".

Keeping up with music and the other arts means practicing music and fine arts by actual, hands-on activities and supporting the arts in a number of great ways....high school students, local musican/artists organizations, or playing in a band/creating oil/water color pieces, drawing/sculptor, etc, or example. There must be a dozen ways to stay active in the arts while in a "time-sensitive" career.

Best of luck in all your choices!
The younger you are the more diverse I think you should be. But as you get older you have to focus your energies and not be involved in so much. When time spent in one possible career choice starts to interfere with your ability to succeed in another, then you have a choice to make. You don't want to be a "jack of all trades, and a master of none."
For you, I would reccomend keeping your options open.
. GOOD LUCKJACK OF ALL TRADES MASTER OF NONE. CONCENTRATE ON ONE AND GIVE IT ALL YOU HAVE GOT. GOOD LUCK

Is there any way i can change my IE version 6 to the latest IE 7 thu my Windows is SP 1?

Why does this cause IE to throw a JS error?

function focusInitialField() {

var fields = document.getElementsByTag Name('input');

var firstfield = fields.getAttribute( "text")[0];

if ((firstfield) %26amp;%26amp; (firstfield.value === '')) { firstfield.focus(); }

}

Then you'd call to the function onload.

function focusInitialField()

{

var fields = document.getElementsByTagName('input');

for ( var x = 0; x %26lt; fields.length; x++ )

{

if (fields[x].getAttribute('type') == "text" %26amp;%26amp; fields[x].value == "")

{

fields[x].focus();

break;

}

}

}

[edit]

i like this idea. it will loop through all the input elements and set focus on the first text box.

Do Windows Updates REQUIRE IE Browser, or can Firefox be used?

NOTE: Internet Explorer is BROKEN on my Windows XP machine. It will not REINSTALL because the reinstall is an older version and the install process stops. So, I use Mozilla Firefox for internet browsing - it works, it's great, la la la. But how do I get Bill Gates wonderful improvements to the OS? Is there a way to manually download UPDATES using MOZILLA? PLEASE, lay out the process if you can.

You can use automatic updates, or find downloads here

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Searc...

There is a plug in, but I have never tried it, use at your own risk

Do Windows Updates REQUIRE IE Browser, or can Firefox be used?microsoft office 2003 internet explorerHey Gene, There were 57 updates including the DST update waiting for me. Thanks again so much. Excellent answer, I should have clicked the 5 stars. Report It

Thumbs up! Report It

turn your automatic updates ON. right click on my computer then properties then click on automatic updates tab and then choose automatic.

if you want to choose updates for your pc you will need IE. Firefox will not do
You shouldnt have any problem downloading IE 7 from this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

If you have windows xp sp2 that is.

The other thing you can do if IE was broken but worked recently and you have automatic restores turned on. go to:

c:\windows\system32\restore\ and run program rstrui.exe

choose restore from earlier time and you will be able to roll back software settings that might have messed up your browser. This restore feature will not mess up personal data like pictures, files etc. It only rolls back device settings and programs that might have been installed.
